Its Mom, not Mommy

Recently Connor has started calling me Mom, sometimes. No more mommy. To me that’s a sign he is getting older. Breaks my heart in a way, but he is still mommy’s little boy, and for the most part calls me mommy.

Last weekend was Memorial Day weekend, Connor was with his dad, and it rained ALL weekend but on Monday we made the best of it. I was really hoping to get to go to Freedom Weekend Aloft to see the hot air balloons but it was rained out, and with the storms I don’t think they went up at all, except Friday morning when we had seen them on the way to school/work. Come Monday afternoon Con was tired of being in the house and was driving us crazy, at one point I hear my mom (from the other room), ask him “Don’t you have any imaginary friends you can play with?” I decided that we would check out the Children’s Museum. It just opened Summer of last year so we had not been yet. It was very cool, and Connor had a lot of fun. We were there for 3 hours, and would have been much longer but they were about to close. A week later he is still mad, and reminding me we haven’t seen the balloons. I swear, my child doesn’t forget a thing! So next year I hope it doesn’t rain so we are able to see them.

Making Music

This weekend Connor and I had a date night on Saturday, downtown. He has been really into bridges lately so I thought taking him to Liberty Bridge to walk over it would be cool. Of course he loved it. It is something we will have to do again. I love Falls Park, and everyone is so happy there. I would love for us to take a picnic down there, I just need it to cool down some… its HOT! We also had pizza, walked the 6 blocks to the bridge and then the 6 blocks back UP hill to have ice cream. I knew we would never find a parking spot near the bridge, and the pizza place was at the other end, but it was great exercise for me, of course Con was in the stroller. He was tired when we got home and slept very well.

A weekend of many first's

This weekend has been full of first for us. On Saturday Connor got fitted for his first pair of custom fit ear plugs. I never knew these even existed until the pediatricians office sent an email out. I thought these would be perfect because with Connor having tubes he is not supposed to get water in his ears. Last year I kept him away from the pool because he loved to go in head first. In the past I have tried the wax ear plugs you buy at the store but they never stayed in. I am excited about using these this summer, so he can get into the pool! He chose blue and green, and wanted it swirled together.

Saturday we also went put putting for the first time. Connor was so cute he would put the ball right next to the hole and shoot it in. Needless to say he got a lot of hole in ones. I am proud to say I got 4 and that’s on the holes I shoot at. A lot of them I was to busy taking pictures and helping Connor. He loved playing, and has asked all weekend to go back and play again. It will be defiantly something we will have to do again.

Sunday, we went to Wal-Mart and ended up buying a fish. This is our first official pet. We bought a male beta, which is blue with red on the tail. He is very pretty and Connor named him Blue of all things! Of course we got the bowl, water stabilizer, blue rock and a sea horse Connor say that he needed. We got Blue all settled in his new bowl with food and Connor just loved sitting on the counter with him and pepping over the bowl. It wasn’t before to long that I had to have him get down because he almost spelt the water.

Connor's Custom fitted ear plugs!

This is where he would place the ball at everytime it was his turn. Hole in one!

Connor and his new fish Blue. Blue is in there somewhere but he tends to blend in with the blue rocks we picked out, maybe we will go with another color the next time we clean his bowl out.

1st blog!

Well I am happy to say this is my first Blog post. This seems to be the "IN" thing to do, so everyone can keep up. I am a little behind seeing Connor is 3 but, better late then never right? Connor says the funniest things, and I want to be able to blog them and remember the things he said years from now. I am happy to be a new blogger!
