Its Mom, not Mommy

Recently Connor has started calling me Mom, sometimes. No more mommy. To me that’s a sign he is getting older. Breaks my heart in a way, but he is still mommy’s little boy, and for the most part calls me mommy.

Last weekend was Memorial Day weekend, Connor was with his dad, and it rained ALL weekend but on Monday we made the best of it. I was really hoping to get to go to Freedom Weekend Aloft to see the hot air balloons but it was rained out, and with the storms I don’t think they went up at all, except Friday morning when we had seen them on the way to school/work. Come Monday afternoon Con was tired of being in the house and was driving us crazy, at one point I hear my mom (from the other room), ask him “Don’t you have any imaginary friends you can play with?” I decided that we would check out the Children’s Museum. It just opened Summer of last year so we had not been yet. It was very cool, and Connor had a lot of fun. We were there for 3 hours, and would have been much longer but they were about to close. A week later he is still mad, and reminding me we haven’t seen the balloons. I swear, my child doesn’t forget a thing! So next year I hope it doesn’t rain so we are able to see them.

Making Music

This weekend Connor and I had a date night on Saturday, downtown. He has been really into bridges lately so I thought taking him to Liberty Bridge to walk over it would be cool. Of course he loved it. It is something we will have to do again. I love Falls Park, and everyone is so happy there. I would love for us to take a picnic down there, I just need it to cool down some… its HOT! We also had pizza, walked the 6 blocks to the bridge and then the 6 blocks back UP hill to have ice cream. I knew we would never find a parking spot near the bridge, and the pizza place was at the other end, but it was great exercise for me, of course Con was in the stroller. He was tired when we got home and slept very well.
