LooseWell

LooseWell is a program that is offered through my work, for weight lose and becoming healthy.  The best thing is that the program is FREE!  You have to complete 10 out of the 12 classes, if not then you will be pay roll deducted for $199.  That enough is motivation for me to go and complete it.  The 12 weeks are a weekly class that is a hour and half, and we learn about healthy eating and well.. I am not sure what else but I will soon find out. :)  Last week we went in and were weighed, b/p taken, BMI configured, waist measured, and labs drawn.  The program is over seen by a physician and a dietitian along with a exercise physiologist.  Ohh the best thing I forgot to mention is that during the 12 weeks we get a gym membership so we are able to work out!

Monday 1/14 was Week 1 – The Dr talked to us about what our numbers meant.  Mine are not anything to be alarmed about but defiantly should come down.  I won’t share them now but maybe for comparison at the end of the 12 weeks.  We also go a heart rate monitor thingy my bop (yes I did call it that) its this contraption that you wrap around and it sits right under your breast.  Then you have the watch part that tells you your heart rate.  Its pretty cool.

In class we got specific calories each one of us should eat.  I have been using a app called MyFitness Pal and it tracks everything you eat.  Although, this is the first week I got in the mind set last week and stopped drinking all soda.. yes ALLLL that's huge for me, I truly had an addiction to Mountain Dew.  I also started eating better.  This week I am still doing the same but now keeping a food diary.  We will have our first weigh in next Monday. I am excited to see how I do.  This weekend will be a struggle because it is the weekend and to top it off pay week.  Of course we always go out to eat on those days.  If I do choose to go out I will make wise choices and make sure I count for everything I eat.  I even made sure I counted the 10 m&ms tonight, and logged them!  Tomorrow I plan on hitting the gym on my lunch hour and walking for an hour.  I am hoping I will be able to go to Zumba tomorrow evening.  That will really get my heart rate up!

Christmas

Christmas is my most favorite time of year!  This year was no different, Connor was very excited.  Michelle and Connor came up and Connor was up bright and early to see what Santa brought.  His big gift from Santa was an iPod.  Every year my work has Santa and Mrs. Clause for cookies with Santa.  There is always a very long line but we try to get there early so we won’t be in line as long.  It is free and you get a free picture.  I'm all about free and fun things to do with Con.  He asked Santa for a racetrack, pizza, hot dog and fries!!!!

Vegas!!!!

So for my big 3-0 Michelle and I had Vegas in mind for over a year.  I was determined to make it happen!  I have the best sister ever!!!!  The plane ticket was a present for planning her wedding the year before and she was able to get my room at a discount with her players card, so that ended up being my birthday present.  We went out there for 5 nights 6 days.  I was a little worried at first because that was the longest that me and Connor would have been away from each other but we both survived. I had a lot of fun it was defiantly a life time trip to remember.  I did the whole tourist thing and walked and walked for about 5 hours a day!

My friend Heather and her husband ended up coming out at the same time, so we all had a nice dinner together for my birthday.  We ate really good while we were out there.  We ended up buying living social and groupons in advance that helped a lot with the food cost.  Michelle’s friend Alicia ended up flying out and staying for a couple nights as well it was fun!  Everything  there is way expensive food, drinks, anything really!  I couldn’t live there but it was fun for a visit.

The BIG 3-0!

That’s right I finally turned 30!  I was anxious about it at first but after being 30 for a month it isn’t so bad.  I feel like I am finally fitting into my self, if that makes any sense at all.  I know what is important in life and I don’t let little things bother me.  I decided instead of the annual Christmas Party I would host a 80’s theme Birthday party.  I love party planning and really wanted to do an 80’s theme.  I did it with a make shift photo both and all.  It was so much fun!

Gobble Gobble

I love the holidays and getting together with family.  Connor and Coleman get along so well.  I love that we can carry the same tradition on for our kids as we all did when we were growing up.  Courtney & Brandon are expecting baby boy #2 so our family just keeps growing.  I cant imagine in a couple years if all 5 of us have more kids, or for the other 3 start having kids, how many will be running around!

Surprise!!!!

Mary my BFF in the whole wide world was getting married 12-12-12, in the Virgin Islands, but was having a bachorlette party before then.  I defiantly wanted to go, and better yet surprise her.  I set it up with his sister and soon to be husband.  I took a long weekend off work and drove up on a Friday and back on a Monday.  It was about an 8 hour drive each way.  It wasn’t as bad as I was dreading but it was so worth it. She was very surprised.  It was a good weekend.

Oct = Apple picking & Ninjas

There are a few traditions I started with Con and plan to stick with them.  One of them is Apple picking.  We head up to Sky Top right over the SC border in NC.  It is always busy.  And the best thing of all they have these amazing-hot-fresh-melt in your mouth- DOUNUTS!  Best thing in this world, and my mouth is watering right now as I type this, and I have a good 8 or 9 months to wait for some.  Olivia had never been apple picking before she she came with us.  As did Meggie and the kids.

Soccer

We decided to give Soccer another chance.  Last year we tried when he was 4.  It was a disaster and I mean a huge epic fail! He didn’t want to go out there and just cried and cried.  After 2 times and the whole week between games him talking about not going I didn’t take him back.  This year was different he asked over and over to play.  So I figured we would try.  This time it was a huge success. He loved it YAY!  He turned out to be pretty good also.  Of course the season went by way to fast and the kids were just getting the hang of the game and getting use to the other kids and it was over.
